Pluck 'n' Squeeze are a raucous, fun loving acoustic Folk Dance Band based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Our music is lively and full of "umph". We play a variety of traditional English, Scottish, Irish and American tunes, although we'll use anything for a dance tune as long as it makes you want to grab someone and bounce around the room with them.
Our line up includes a Melodeon, Piano Accordion, Fiddle and Ukulele Banjo. Maggie and Stan also make valiant attempts on the Hammered Dulcimer, 6 and 12 string Guitars, Ukulele, Mandolin and Plectrum Banjo.
Maggie and Stan also perform as a duo singing traditional songs and playing tunes. The songs include a lot from Lancashire, mainly about weaving, some nautical ones and some less serious ones and some that can't be mentioned until after 10 o' clock. There is now a website devoted to our duo work. So for more information go to http://www.maggieandstan.co.uk.
We are available for both formal dances and anarchic knee's ups including: Barn Dances, Ceilidhs, Folk Dances, Weddings, Beer Festivals, Parties, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Beer Festivals, Christmas / New Year Celebrations, Fetes, Children's Parties and Beer Festivals.
